The common area lighting at Wilshire Residences has been designed to achieve 40% improvement from the baseline of Singapore Standards in energy efficiency. An energy efficient lift system is also designed to provide 15% replacement of renewable energy.
Climate Control
Wilshire Residences' blue facade glass has enabled a 22% improvement in the thermal performance of the building enveloping from Singapore’s standard baseline. This means that the internal spaces will receive lesser solar heat gain and hence lesser air-conditioning will be required to cool the unit. Also, majority of the units will have their windows facing the prevailing wind direction which is the North-South direction. This helps to improve the effectiveness of the natural ventilation. All selected air-conditioning units are certified under the Singapore Energy-Labeling Scheme with the maximum rating of 4 ticks.
Water
All water fittings have PUB WELS ‘excellent’ of ‘very good’ ratings. Sub-water meters are also installed at common areas to identify possible leakages, helping to improve timely maintenance to any faulty fittings.

Water Conservation
As part of the Active Beautiful Clean (ABC) waters programme launched by the Public Utilities Board of Singapore, an underground water detention tank and basement water detention tank based on 100% of the development’s catchment area is designed to store rainwater temporarily and subsequently discharge in a controlled manner to the external public drain to avoid flooding to the nearby vicinity during heavy rainfall.
Recycling
Wilshire Residences advocates recycling throughout the life cycle of the project. Prior to construction, there is much consideration to extensively use products which are endorsed with the Singapore Green Label Scheme (SGLS). These are products that have been certified to prevent abuse of green-washing where their production has minimal carbon footprint on the environment. The selected products include waterproofing systems, ceiling boards, anti termite system, drainage cells, tile adhesive, precas lightweight panels and carpentry laminates.
Similarly, all other walls are constructed from non-structural precast RC walls which are made from 20% recycled materials and are also faster to install thereby improving productivity. In addition, all cast in-situ concrete utilize at least 10% green cement such as ground granulated blast furnace slag, and commit to a significant use of recycled concrete aggregates and wash copper slags to replace coarse and fine aggregates for concrete production. Wilshire Residences also planned to continue the recycling ethos
throughout the life cycle of the project. There is separate recycling chute for the disposal of recycled materials for each lift lobby. In addition, recycling bins for collection of paper, plastics, glass and cans are adequately provided at common areas at the convenience of residents. Wilshire Residences is competitive to push for social responsibility and strive to differentiate itself from its counterparts.
